Follow Me To Freedom

Today’s topic comes from The_Freak as he figures out a good bit of my topics around here. Soon he’ll be put on the payroll for this Blog. It’s from an old SportsCenter skit back in the day and featured Charlie Steiner, the man. For those who know Steiner, you laugh everytime you see that commercial air.

Here we go to gear up for the weekend. I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Things are going well here. I’m getting used to having time off work and being a bum, but it’s about to end soon. Not so fast my friend. I still have a few days to run shop while I don’t have to wake up early. This week coming up I get to wake up at 5:30 and be at work at 6:50. Gotta love bus duty. I’ll be like a zombie all week I’m sure, but Christmas is on it’s way.

I didn’t hit up Black Friday this year. I did that last year to check out the madness for the first time. I wish I could’ve seen the chicks bust each other up to fight for TVs, but I figured I’d be better off being an internet junkie and staying up till 7:00. Out of the past 5 days I don’t think I’ve been to bed before 6:00 AM. I have a 7:30 and 7:00 in there too. Me and Cork rolled to Denny’s one night at 3:00 and watched people camp out for the XBox 360. That was fun.

Anything big go down over Thanksgiving? Nothing major that I can think of. The food was great as usual and a few of my boys came over to watch games and be our regular bum selves. Other than that, I live on here basically. I was online after dinner from 3:00-8:00 or so. Cork came over to watch some NBA and the WVU game. He leaves, I get a quick shower, and I’m on here from about 12:00-7:00. I think I left my seat once and that was for a Gatorade. Yeah, I’m far too gone now. Way too addicted, but you know I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Real World finale huh? What some drama we had in the first 15 minutes. It made for good TV though, so I won’t complain. Nehemiah turned into straight OG when he got up in Rachel’s grill and had her crying. Maybe she deserved that after thinking none of the guys would step up to her since she’s a chick. He didn’t hit her or anything, just put the fear into her until she bawled her eyes out. Then the last 15 minutes was basically what the entire season was for, to show Danny and Mel together. Not one of my most memorable seasons at all, but I still didn’t miss a single episode. Next week is the reunion, so that could be good. Nehemiah accuses of Danny of being a Ben Affleck wannabe.

Some good wrestling action this Sunday. It’s one of the Big 4 pay per views, Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and this week we get Survivor Series. I always did like this one since it has the old school feeling. You can’t go wrong with a good ol’ 10-Man Tag Match. These are usually good matches as everyone gets to put their moves on and it ends up in utter chaos. The big match this year has the 5 from RAW (HBK, Big Show, Kane, Carlito, and Masters) against SmackDown’s crew (Bradshaw, Orton, Batista, Rey Mysterio, and the next roid sensation Bobby Lashley). I always cracked up how some of the guys feuding before this match are now suddenly on the same side to help each other. Our WWE Title Match has Cena defending against Angle. Flair and HHH go at it in a Last Man Standing Match, which will need the Red Cross at ringside due to extreme blood loss. Bischoff is fighting Teddy Long, stupid. Trish puts up her Women’s Title against Melina, who has been improving a lot recently on her ring work. These girls can actually wrestle too, unlike most of the rest of the chicks on the roster outside of Victoria and Mickie James. Of course I’ll be ordering this one, so gear up.

Just one CD to make note of this time. That one is What The Game’s Been Missing by Juelz Santana. I like this one a lot. Rap out of the Dipset camp is always a style of their own and the background noises always made their music I thought. A full CD here too, none of this 50 minute junk. Juelz did it big and pushed about 77 minutes onto this thing.

3 Quick Thangs:

1. The birthdays for Saturday, November 26th? Tina Turner is 67, geez. Former Pirates fan favorite Bob Walk is the Big 50. ESPN Baseball Tonight, and former baller himself, Harold Reynolds is 45. Chuck Finley Kitain is 43, while Mario Elie of Rockets fame is 42. Cork’s favorite Shawn Kemp is 36 on Saturday.

2. Bama Ashley, nice of ya to get a new cam. Already worth it and then some. Quality stuff for sure.

3. The Ringer with Johnny Knoxville comes out on December 23rd. It looks awesome on the previews, but who knows.

Mmmm... Frog Legs

Yo, what’s up out there? I’m just kicking back on my week off, enjoying bum time. Always tough to figure out where to begin, so I’ll just be as random as I always do.

Since my regular Chinese restaurant shop got busted by the health department, I had to go to Option B last night. I went to Grand China Buffet. My old place I was familiar with and was a regular. They knew what I got to drink, hooked me up with deals, etc. Now we roll to the new place. This one has been there for a year or more I want to guess, but I’ve never went out of loyalty to my old place that got shut down. Anyways, this place is a big time operation. Me and my boy Spank saw frog legs on the buffet. We were bored, so we said we’d give it a try. Not too bad actually, it’s like chicken. Not a lot of meat on them, but they were loaded with salt and pepper. Another funny thing is that there is this Chinese dude there named Alan. Maybe I’m crazy, but did they just tag that name on him when he came over here? A Chinese guy named Alan? That’d be like me naming a kid Yao or something to that effect, you get the idea. It cracked me up though.

Wednesday night could be big for me. Well, as big as it gets in my mean streets. Early in the night, we’re playing ball since Thursday is Thanksgiving and everyone and their brother will be at the Pitt/WVU game. But we can’t miss ball for anything. On top of that, my boy Posey is coming in and is setting up a big Monopoly game. Count me in for that action. Win or lose, Monopoly is always a good time.

As I type this, I’m watching some Scarface on USA. The edited version is always a good laugh because this movie might have more cussing in it than any in the history. Still, it’s a classic and I don’t have to tell you that since most are into it. For what it’s worth, I’ll give you my favorite segment though. It’s after Tony’s guy gets cut up with the chainsaw and then his boys come in to help Tony out. As the guy they were going to buy the cocaine off of tried to cross them over, he makes it out to the street. People are all over the place and Tony shoots this guy straight in the head in front of everybody and makes a getaway. Don’t mess with him. And a random Scarface quote that of him big pimpin’, especially when it’s an Italian playing the role with a Cuban accent, that makes it even more strange.

“Now you’re talking to me baby!” - Tony
“Don’t call me baby. I’m not your baby.” - Elvira
“Not yet. Give it some time.” - Tony

I made a late night Denny’s trip with Cork at 3:00 AM and people were camping out for the launch of XBox 360, no joke. I’m a huge video game guy, but I couldn’t see me camping out for the arrival. A few were doing it big though by having TVs setup in the back of SUVs and things of that nature to kill time with. $400 too, not cheap. I’m holding off on the new systems until the Nintendo Revolution comes out.

Here’s the good word on what CDs I got over the past few days..

Chrome: Straight To The Pros. This is a new sensation from The Hypnotize Camp Posse that everyone seems big on. Three 6’s boy. It’s getting good reviews online, but I haven’t listened yet.

Dillinger & Young Gotti: The Saga Continuez. This is the new Dogg Pound or so they want it to be. Daz Dillinger as part of this, so it can’t be too bad you wouldn’t think.

Sheek Louch: After Taxes. From the mighty mighty D-Block clan. The video for One Name featuring Carl Thomas is out already and it’s a good one. Of course the other two members of LOX is on this thing (Jadakiss and Styles P), but you also get Beanie Sigel and Fabolous. Sheek does a 50 Cent diss on this album as well.

Hopefully I can get in another post before the weekend to talk some wrestling since we have Survivor Series coming up. Also, tonight is the finale of Real World Austin. Hopefully it’s good. This season hasn’t been good, but I’ll still miss not watching Real World for a bit on Tuesdays. Until next time, here are 3 things you all want..

3 Quick Thangs:

1. Birthday time, it’s been a while.. Tennis great Billie Jean King is 62. Jamie Lee Curtis turns 47. Former NBA big guy Benoit Benjamin goes for 41. My favorite all time tennis player, Boris Becker, is only 38.

2. I like Usher and all, but seeing him in a gangsta movie should be worth the see. It won’t come out in my racist area unfortunately, but who is Ursh going to get thuggish on? Tony Montana would bury him in two seconds.

3. At SolosBets on the year, I’m 21-18 on my bets. Free bets, but it’s still competitive with my buddies. We bet on NFL, NBA, and NHL. Doing better than most of my crew, but not sure if that’s something to brag about or not.

A Little Pimp In Your Step

Thanks to the one and only The_Freak for the title today. He also gives this gem of a website: http://pimpcentral.org/.

What is happening out there? Yes, I haven’t posted since Saturday. I’m not giving excuses though, so hold tight and enjoy the ride. As I type this, I just got done playing some ball and that always puts me in a good mood. On top of that, I get 9 days off in a row from work, sweet. I like work and all, but forget those waking up early deals. When I return, I have to get to school at 6:50 and do bus duty, grr. But I’ll manage.

It’s well past the fact and I’m sure everyone has heard the sad wrestling news. Eddie Guerrero passed away this week and there was a RAW tribute show for him. Very shocking when I first read about this happening. Sure, Eddie had drug and substance problems over the years, but he was supposedly clean for the past 4 years. Nonetheless, his arteries had to have been mangled, plus add steroids on top of that. It’s just tough to see one of the greatest pure wrestlers I’ve seen go down so early, age 38. Great tribute show on RAW though as any wrestling fan that watched couldn’t help but cry. I’m a wuss like that anyways with sad stuff like chick flicks, but this one tore me up. I’m man enough to admit that, hah.

Not a lot of drama or funny stories this week, so I’m kind of bummed over that. Now that I’m putting up this Blog, watch something crazy go down that I won’t be able to put up until the next one. I’m off all week, so I should have some post time in there. I’ll see what I can whip up for the fans out there.

Anyone getting jacked up for Christmas shopping? Way early for me. I’m sure all of the chicks will be out there at 5:00 in the morning for Black Friday or whatever they call it these days. That was a madhouse last year when I went, but interesting to say the least. I’d do it again, but I’m not making any plans to do that. I just had fun watching the chicks get into rumbles over something on sale once 6:00 AM hits. I want to egg it on. “Smack her! Get that TV! She doesn’t want any!”

I didn’t get any CDs since the last post. I know, I’m slacking there. I’ll see what I can do for you all soon. I’m stretching for things to talk about, but you know how that goes. The movie for work this week? Madagascar and Dodgeball I believe. We’ll see how that goes. Can’t ever go wrong with a cartoon movie can you? I didn’t think so either. Chris Rock and Cedric The Entertainer as voices? That’s money.

Ok, I can’t stand not to talk about more wrestling. I had to reserve the Bret Hart 3-disc DVD, The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be and got that last Tuesday. These things are selling like hotcakes, like I knew they would. I haven’t seen all of the discs yet, but it’s already worth it. I could tell stories from what I’ve seen already, but I won’t bore you all yet. One of the best technical wrestlers ever and knew how to tell a story. Rare in today’s world.

A short Blog for my standards, but hey, it’s not too shabby. You know you’re craving for more over Thanksgiving Break.

3 Quick Thangs:

1. Tommy Maddox is starting for the Steelers this week. He’s a mess.

2. It’s cold as balls here tonight. I guess that saying is common everywhere else? Should be. You know what I mean.

3. Classic song lyrics time: Ain’t No Fun by Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, Warren-G, and Kurupt. We’ll go to the third verse from Snoop:

Guess who back in the motherfuckin house
With a fat dick for your motherfuckin mouth
Hoes recognize, niggaz do too
Cuz when bitches get skanless and pull a voodoo
What you gon do? You really don't know
So I'd advise you not to trust that hoe
Silly of me to fall in love with a bitch
Knowin damn well, I'm too caught up with my grip
Now as the sun rotates and my game grows bigger
How many bitches wanna fuck this nigga named Snoop
Doggy, I'm all the above
I'm too swift on my toes to get caught up with you hoes
But see, it ain't no fun, if my homies can't get a taste of it
Cause you know I don't love em

Happy 24th Birthday Cork!

What is up out there in internet land? Things are going fine here. 3-day weekend for me, so I can’t complain. Props to Veteran’s Day. In this edition, I’ll talk about movies, playing ball, wrestling, new CDs, and whatever else goes down. At least I didn’t go over a week between posts like I did last time. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen anytime soon.

First off, I’ll start out with a funny story. I won’t even have to say much on this one and it’ll have people cracking up just with the basics, or so I think anyways. This week at school a dude got caught jerking it in the bathroom. I couldn’t make that up if I tried. Not sure what’s going to happen to him if anything, but it’s probably more embarrassing that everyone knows who it was, so they’re cracking jokes. Guess he couldn’t wait till he got home.

The movie of the week? Herbie: Fully Loaded. It wasn’t a bad movie at all actually. I had doubts on it, but everyone seemed to like it and be interested in it. It’s not even an hour and a half, so it’s a quick one to get through. Predictable, sure, but what movie like that wouldn’t be? This is also before Lindsay Lohan got all cracked out. Now she’s 63 pounds and a freak of nature. A freak of nature in a bad way that is.

For the locals who aren’t up to things, we’re now balling on Thursday nights from 7:00-9:00 at The Lighthouse. Feel free to stop down for the action. We’ve had some good runs the past few weeks and the best part of the deal is that it’s free.

I talked about picking up Jake The Snake: Pick Your Poison double-DVD the other day. The commentary alone is enough to buy this gem. The commentary part is 1:40 and Jake leaves nothing out. A great storyteller and one of the best in-ring technicians ever who had the crowd in the palm of his hand. Unfortunately, he was a completely different person outside the ring and couldn’t beat his demons. You get to hear his drug stories, his needed-to-be-heard story of his early family life, an awesome portrayal about how much of a punk the Ultimate Warrior was, and of course wrestling. I haven’t started watching the matches yet, but I’m excited. And on Tuesday? I’ll have the Bret Hart deal that won’t be able to stay on the shelves.

Denny’s trip last night and nothing too major went down. It was me, Cork, Abby, Ally, and Whitney. Major props to Cork today since it’s his 24th birthday! We get the waitress who hates Cork. We don’t even know the reason why she hates him, but she does. Lately she’s been acting all fake and excited when we get there, which is funny. I get the buffalo chicken strips and raspberry tea. I didn’t load up too much since I wasn’t that hungry. Just was nice to get out of the house and be a bum up there. No action this time, but still worth the regular trip. We didn’t go to Wal-Mart on this late night run, but I was already there on Friday anyways.

I know it’s been a few weeks, but I finally got my Halloween pics. I’ll post one here from the night that I wrote about a while back. From left to right: Cork being a gangsta, my cousin Kari, me doing the Beavis thing, and my cousin Ozzie being a chick.

I know a lot of you guys are into the whole blog craze. I’m the same way and you know you get bored enough to check out random places. Thanks to my girl Yvonne who posts here, she throws this jewel at me: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=5327837&Mytoken=d9fbf5bc-3cd8-4390-ba29-d05c4c9f214b.

This is from a guy in Bosnia who has a great collection of music on his page. Anyways, check out the song “I’m A Gangster” by Josh Tobin. It’s #3 on his page and the lyrics are creative. “I’m a gangster, grrrrr, I’m mad. I’m a gangster, my rhymes are bad.” I know I’m easily amused, but I’ve been listening to this one repeatedly today. And for some reason, Laffy Taffy is really growing on me. That one is getting major airplay.

Now it’s time to mention a few new CDs I got since our last post:

Chamillionaire: The Sound Of Revenge. Awesome stuff here and you need it. Turn It Up featuring Lil Flip is one that is released now and it’s high quality from super producer Scott Storch. Also on this album is Krayzie Bone, Mike Jones, Pastor Troy, Bun-B, Lil Wayne, Scarface, and Killer Mike. One of the better albums I’ve heard this year.

Thug Angel – The Life Of An Outlaw Soundtrack. This is from the 2Pac movie/documentary for those confused. Mack 10, Tech N9ne, The Outlawz, and Mac Mall on this joint.

Young Buck: T.I.P. I’m not sure why, but no G-Unit members are on this CD. The only notable guy in a track is Bun-B.

3 Quick Thangs:

1. I’m currently rocking out to some Axe Touch shower gel. It’ll have me turning down chicks left and right, hah. Or something.

2. What other birthdays are today besides Cork? 1976 Olympic gold medalist Nadia Comaneci is 44. Ross of Friends turns 39. Former heavyweight champion Michael Moorer hits 38. Baseballers Sammy Sosa and Derek Bell go for 37. Tonya Harding, Happy 35th.

3. 4:04 AM right now as I type this up and it’s currently 33 degrees.

Pick Your Poison

Hello. Where have I been? Did I get lost in a cave and grow a 2 foot long beard? Did I vanish into the sky not to be seen for over a week? Well, never fear, for I'm back. This is probably the longest I've went ever without a Blog, but I may be wrong on that. Either way, I need to get back in the grind in here. We all need a little break.. Where do I start in my busy past week or so?

NBA consumes my life. Now that NBA season started up last week, I'm obsessed beyond all measures. I'm in NBA mode 365 days a year though. That is nothing you all don't know though, but once the regular season kicks in, it goes up another notch. Fantasy basketball wise, I started out in the EDDFL in 7th Place in Week 1. I need to improve on that. In A#BA though, I put a rock solid win against Bono and his Vagina Squires. Yes, that's his team name. That cracks me up every time. Oh well, I'll be 50 years old and still laugh at middle school humor.

The latest Ashlee Simpson story is awesome. She rolls into a McDonald's all wasted. She jumps on the counter and they tell her to get off. She then calls the person a bitch for that. Soon, a guy comes up and asks for her autograph. She says she'll give him one if he gets down and kisses her feet. He refuses and she drops an f-bomb. Video of this is on the internet, so enjoy that piece of work. Gotta love white trash stories.

A recent pic of me this past weekend rockin' a Notre Dame hat at a little place my parents have about 2 hours away. Nice to get away to relax and do some fishing:

I'm sure you're dying to know what movie my kids watched last Friday. We got Walking Tall with The Rock and Johnny Knoxville. Not a new one, but a good bit of them requested that I rent that one, so I did. I like this one a lot too. It's short enough to watch in a 90-minute class that I teach, so it worked out nice. And you can't go wrong showing high school kids some violence and people beating on each other, their eyes are glued to the TV and you don't have to worry about them. This Friday is Veteran's Day, so props to my boy Spank and the rest of the military crew out there for doing it big. That means movie day for my classes gets pushed back to Thursday. What, you thought I'd go a week without showing a movie? The insanity around here!

A little wrestling news for you all to feast on. First, I picked up Jake The Snake: Pick Your Poison Double DVD over the weekend. I've watched about 40 minutes of the documentary part so far and it's incredible. Jake unfortunately has lived a hard life. He talks about his messed up family life growing up, drugs he's done, and a ton of other stories. And I haven't even watched one sixth of this collection yet, so I'm excited to see the rest. That day I also reserved the Bret Hart DVD package which is going to straight sell like hotcakes. I wanted a copy the first day it came out, so my only option was to reserve and I actually saved money doing that, not bad. It comes out next Tuesday.

RAW brings a nice change of scenery, or at least for me. My boy Joey Styles, former ECW announcer, has now joined the RAW commentary team. Last night was his first RAW. He did Taboo Tuesday last week, but I didn't get to see that. Joey is very good in my opinion, but then again, I'm biased towards anything ECW related. It's tough to run a 3-man broadcast team if you ask me though. He didn't get to say a ton, but did a fine job. Hopefully next week he fits in better. We're less than 3 weeks away from Survivor Series. Bischoff starts off by sending Edge to SmackDown to face Batista in a Street Fight. This is due to Edge saying he's only out for himself and not for anyone else on RAW. I'm getting into this character for some reason. Carlito beat Shelton Benjamin in an awesome match and I hope they get more matches together in the near future. Flair beat Conway while Triple H watched on in a recliner. Afterwards, HHH chokes Flair out with a chain. Rematch at Survivor Series between these two in a Last Man Standing Match, nice. Kurt Angle is the man. His mic work a few segments before the main event was quality. Angle brought back Daivari to be ref in the main event. Angle and Masters beat HBK and Cena with Daivari's help.

I'm not sure what my problem is, but I haven't got a new CD in a week or possibly more. I better catch up and get like 15 over the next few days to get back on schedule.

3 Quick Thangs:

1. It's time to get back into the birthday wishes. Only 2 worth mentioning and they're B-List celebs. The first is Tara Reid who is 30, wow. She used to look good, but now she's nothing but a dirty crackhead. We also have Jack Osbourne, who is 20. The drugs these two have done over the years has to be wild.

2. Today's random website of the day is a blast from the past. For some reason, I can listen to this over and over, even though there's not much to it. Addicting I tell ya. http://zombo.com.

3. A poll in USA Today says the average person eats 25 pounds of candy a year and that's down from the past few years. If the average eats 25, I must eat 300.
